Goals for the week 1-18

Get portraits done .
And make sure I have items for bokeh.

Painting Recreation

 

  "St Rose of Lima" by Carlo Dolci

1.) The light is coming from in front of her and there is light a little above her head.
2.) I can try and duplicate the light by using my flashlight from my phone,or I could use natural rays from the sun.
3.) I have a pink rose headband I used for a different shoot that I can use to duplicate the flower head wear on the model's head. I will also be trying to replicate the facial expressions that are used.
4.) The painter has the subject  tilt slightly to the left but then painted her straight forward.
5.) I will need to require a flower headband, black pillow case, white scarf.
6.) I will be using one of my friends Catherine.
7). The painting shows a flower headband, black sheet/hood , white scarf, head tilt, eyes that are looking up.
8.) Some  struggle might be if the pillow case slides off, If I can get the shadows in the right spot, trying to get the lighting just right.  Getting the white fabric to lay/wrinkle in the right places could be difficult too.

"Portrait of Sylvia Von Harden" by Wilhelm Heinrich Otto Dix 

1.) The light is shooting directly at the subject.
2.) I will duplicate the light with trying to use light filters and since its inside i'm going to try and near sunrise or toward sunset.
3.) I will be needing to replicate the hand position and how the subject legs are crossed the drink and along side matches and lighter. Also I will be trying to get the facial features. Since the painting includes a cigarette I will just be rolling u some paper and calling it a cigarette.
4.) The painter has his subject angling the hand downward and has legs crossed.
5.) I will need to require furniture, makeup, black and red lumber jack shirt (which I have a shirt that looks like this).
6.) I will be using myself and while doing so I will be using a self timer.
7.) I see the portrait subject is wearing a black and red lumber jack pattern, objects are on the small table, there is a cigar in one hand, black circle around the right eye
8.)Some struggles would be the position , getting the focus ,getting cigarette props.

"Bouquet of Flowers" by Edward Manet

1.) the light is shooting directly at the flowers.
2.) I am going to duplicate the light with using my phone as a flashlight.
3.) There is no clothing involved.
4.) The painter has the flowers at different sizes and also facing mostly to the right side.
5.) I will require  a glass vase, red and light pink flowers with leaves, black background.
6.) There is no model involved since its a still life art piece.
7.) I see yellow petals maybe at the bottom, clear glass vase, flowers.light brown surface at the bottom.
8.) I would struggle with focusing on both the flowers and vase, figuring out how to add yellow at the bottom, getting the right leaves with the flowers.

•   Lower in contrast
•   Not as sharp
•   Not suitable for printing directly from the camera or without post processing

3 Advantages

•  Higher in dynamic range
•  Admissible in a court as evidence 
• Uncompressed

•  It loses it color choices with only having a eight bit limitiation
• It doesent allow  corrections that  had already impacted the photo

• Suitable for printing, sharing or posting on the web 

1). Raw file data captures data forms and compromising compressed pixels.

2). Raw enables the  control of white balance,contrast,highlights.

3). Photographers should consider is some cameras don't have a option to shoot in raw. Another is RAW files take up to space. And lastly is is you cant convert JPEG to RAW.

4).A aspiring professional photographer does need to work with RAW because it has a more pixels and since it does ave more pixels it makes it easier to edit.

1). I have used RAW, JPEG,PSD

2). The difference is that Raster images are made of pixels or dots and can be blurry when enlarged and have a large file size but do proved rich detail. While vector graphics use math to draw shapes using points,lines and curves. They are used for fonts and logos, are smaller file sizes, can be edited but may not be grate for some images.
